Daycare FAQS
Daycare FAQS
We offer daycare for up to 4 hours, up to 9 hours, and up to 12 hours!
You can collect your dog earlier from any of these packages but will still have to pay the full amount (for a 3 hour stay you still pay for 4 hours, for an 8 hour stay you still pay for 9 hours)
If you are running late to arrive please let us know with as much notice as possible and we will see how we can best assist you.
Unfortunately we require all dogs that we have not previously worked with to undergo a 3 hour temperament test before they can stay for longer periods. This is in the best interest of the dogs, as sometimes daycare is too much for them to emotionally handle and longer stays can result in their distress.
Yes! If you'd like us to feed your dog please make a note about it.
We feed all the dogs separately and one at a time to prevent any chance of resource guarding or food stealing.
If your dog is a picky eater or grazer we will give them a few chances to try to eat their food- give us a heads up and we can prepare for it even better
You can call to check in on your dog, but after they leave you'll get a report card with photos of all their friends from the day!
While the dogs do spend most of the time playing, we create forced stops to allow the dogs to rest. It is beneficial to them so they do not become overstimulated, but also so that they are a level of "healthy tired" when they go home.
These forced stops include rest time, meal time (if necessary), and cuddling with our staff.
As much as we would love to have toys out for everyone it is too much of a hazard for us to allow. Some dogs become territorial of toys or haven't learned how to share yet, and some dogs may try to eat toys. We create all the engagement they need in a day!
Unfortunately no, they cannot.
We have to do what is best for the group and legally cannot allow dogs with expired vaccinations into the space. The only exception is if a vet has ordered an antibody test to prove the antibody levels are still safe- this is typically seen in immunocompromised dogs.
In this case we are able to provide solo walks for your dog from your home!
We work with dogs of all different temperaments and do our best to pair them up for the best possible experience.
We can use our two play spaces to separate dogs and give the shy ones a little more time to warm up to like-minded dogs that like to happily coexist.
We have a very strict cleaning regiment because we know how many daycares in NYC send dogs home sick, and improper cleaning protocols is one of the main reasons for this!
Our staff are constantly disinfecting and cleaning up water spills from sloppy drinkers, squeegeeing tumble weeds of hair away, and mopping up as we go.
We perform two full deep cleans per day to ensure the most hygienic environment for our staff and for the dogs.
We try our best to time relief walks so that this doesn't happen, but working with groups of dogs means it is inevitable. Our staff clean up the soiled area immediately so that everyone can get back to having fun!
Of course! When dogs are more active they need to drink more water. Our staff regularly monitor who is drinking and how often, and refill or refresh when necessary.
This also means that dogs will need to pee more, which is why we take dogs out on multiple relief walks per day (included in the total price).
We don't have a set ratio of how many dogs can be supervised by one person as a dogs' demeanor will determine just how much supervision it needs, but we pride ourselves on being overstaffed for the safety of all the dogs.
